Vladislav Starzhenetskiy is Associate Professor at the Chair of International Public and Private International Law, Faculty of Law, Higher School of Economics. He also serves as Academic Supervisor of the Master Program “The Law of International Trade, Finance and Economic Integration” and First Deputy Dean of the Faculty. His research interests include International Law, Private International Law, Human Rights and Intellectual Property Law. He graduated from the Moscow Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) with a Degree in International Law. In 2003, he received his PhD from the Russian Academy of Civil Service under the President of Russia for his dissertation dedicated to comparative analyses of property-rights concepts under the ECHR and Russian law. From 1998 to 2014, he has been working at the Russian Federation’s Supreme Commercial Court and was heading the Department of International Law and Cooperation (2011-2014); this has afforded him a fine opportunity to trace the evolution of the Russian legal and judicial systems. He is a member of the Scientific and Consultative Councils under the Russian Intellectual Property Court and the Russian Ministry of Justice.
