About the Course

“Electric Vehicle Sensors” starts with a discussion on how electric vehicles work differently from gasoline or diesel fuel powered vehicles and the major types of electric vehicles. It then moves to the unique components of full electric and hybrid electric vehicles, and how in-vehicle and external battery charging systems work. We reference all the sensors that are used for in-vehicle and outside unique components. Then we do a deep dive into how each of these sensors work....

Very educative and an eye opener for me . I have learnt a lot on this course and I am willing to build on this to reach greater heights . Thank you to Coursera for giving me such a wonderful opportunity to begin my journey on EV's with the right step.

The material that this class covers is good and practical. It is interesting, and the instructor obviously put a lot of effort into the material which is nice. The instructor is a little quirky, but not a big deal. The 1-star rating is because the amount of material and time frame. Each week there are 5 hours of videos, 5 hours of reading, a 50+ question HW assignment, and a short quiz. During the 2-hour 50 question exam I ran out of time and didn't answer a several questions. Of the questions I did complete I was confident that 90% were done correctly. But with lots of math, no time to check my work, and an auto-grader I got several questions wrong with small algebra mistakes. All of this for a 1-credit class!?!? Shrink the final and reduce the amount of material covered each week and this is a 4 star rating.
