A very instructive course for both native and non-native English speakers seeking to build foundations in journalism. As the editor of a specialized publication looking to gradually transition into traditional journalism and reporting, I found this to be a great introduction to the field of journalism. My only remark is that some of the course material is quite easy for native speakers, although there are ways to make the course challenging even for high-level English speakers.

This is the most engaging, practical, and worthwhile online course I have ever taken. It requires your full attention, but it is also very procedural and practical. I would highly recommend this course to all first-year journalism students. The course material is well-organized and comprehensive, and it covers a wide range of topics, including ethics, reporting, writing, and interviewing. The course also includes a number of hands-on exercises that allow you to put your new skills to the test. These exercises are a great way to practice what you have learned and to get feedback from your instructor. Overall, I found this course to be an invaluable resource for anyone who is interested in pursuing a career in journalism. It is well-organized, comprehensive, and engaging, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about becoming a journalist.

I enjoyed taking the "English for Journalism" course. The instructors left no stone unturned in making the learning journey fun, and I loved the way the learning modules were neatly split down into lectures, quizzes, and peer-graded assignments. As a creative writer, who has mostly written and read fiction, this course was exciting and new. If you're looking for a course to kickstart your journalism journey, this is, hands down, one of the best courses you'll come across online. It has given me a good understanding of what goes on in the life of a news writer, and anyone who takes this course will agree with me. Last but not least, this course is quite adaptable, and practically anyone – whether a recent college graduate, a professional, or someone wishing to broaden their knowledge – can take it. Overall, it was both entertaining and educational.

I am having deep pleasure to have classes of this course! I am from Russia, Moscow city and this course is followed and controlled by the American Center volunteers under support of the Embassy of the U.S. in Russia. Teachers and the way they teach listeners with the Journalism concepts and its principles are very clear, interesting and fun! Now I am on the 4th week and we have already written a small article that was assessed by the same listeners as you from all over the world. It is really great platform not only to get knowledge but also share your ideas. I really appreciate hard working attempts of speakers who lead the course! A big thank you from Russian listeners!

Hello I'm Paul

This Opportunity Was Very Appreciated & Challenging Myself To New Heights Was A Thrill ThThe COURSES MADE ME FEEL AS I WERE ACTUALLY IN A COLLEGE CLASS WHICH MOST OF US MAY NOT GET THAT ACTUAL EXPERIENCEXPERIENCE

COURSERA MAKE YOU FEEL AS IF CLASS IS RITE AT YOUR FINGERTIPS IN YA HOME BUT UNDERSTAND YOU HAVE TO MENTALLY LOCKED IN BECAUSE ITS NOT A WALK IN THE PARK BUT GET CHANCES TO CORRECT YA WRONGS AND RETRY ASSIGNMENTS YOU MAY DIDN'T DO SO GOOD FIRST FEW TIMES.

BUT COMPLETING YA COURSES GIVES YOU A FEELING AS IF YOU FINALLY GRADUATED 🎓 AFTER ALL THE HARDWORK. 🙏 THANKS FOR THE OPPORTUNITY & EXPERIENCE

The syllabus was awesome. The two professors were amazing. They could convey concepts in a way you could retain the information long after the course. That was a major feat. When I watch a news program on CNN or BBC now, the terms I have learned from the course literally jump at me, such as, "the 24-hour news cycle is presenting a human interest story on the untimely death of Anthony Bourdain". I appreciate news reporting with new eyes and ears. I never thought I would need a refresher course on grammar, but I picked up a lot of useful pointers from the language use section. It is a brilliant course!

Wonderful course! Very structured, informative, and fun. If I were in charge, I would transform this online course into a longer, at least 4-part program with more “exercises”, more assignments to practice in ESL and writing. Thank you to the creators of this course and the instructors who were great! I really like the differences in the teaching manner and pronunciation of Mr. John Cotton and Ms. Eve Litt, - thank you very much for improving my English skills. P.S. Can I now tell my friends that I 😉took a course at the University of Pennsylvania?

ENGLISH FOR JOURNALISM... IS A CATCHY AND UNIQUE COURSE!!!!

THE FRIENDLY WAY OF TEACHING IS REALLY CATCHY AND REMARKABLE BECAUSE IT USES THE SPECIFIC LANGUAGE TO BE LEARNED BY EVERYONE WHO ENROLLS TO BE PART OF THE WORLD OF JOURNALISM.

THE DIFFERENT KINDS OF ACTIVITIES ARE INTERESTING BECAUSE THEY OFFER A VARIETY OF OPTIONS INCLUDING THE DIVERSITY OF LANGUAGES AND PEOPLE WHO EVALUATE OTHERS BY CONVEYING THEIR OPINIONS OR COMMENTARIES ABOUT THE JOURNALISM.

I think course has a great influence on me because I am a student majors in journalism and communication,so I need to improve my skills on it.The course has tought me a lot of professional skills about pitching, writing, broadcasting and so on,I had a complete learning about news. But there is an error through checking others' homework which is someone give grades freely and have no responsibility baout others,so I think it is necessary to rigid some rules to restrain somenone's behavior.
