It is an excellent course to apply statistic, probability and python methods in financial modelling. I would like that each section had resources to study statistics concepts related to the videos.

The videos are relevant to the curriculum provided. The videos are straight to the point and give some fundamental theories and concepts of statistics, although sometimes it isn't detail enough and I had to search through another sources for additional information. But overall, the course is enjoyable, and has given me some insights about how to analyze data, particularly in stock market. It stimulates me to dive deeper into statistics and data analytics more.

This is a good course for beginners. It introduces the basic concepts in a nice manner and you can understand things easily. If you have a prior idea of python, statistics and finance it will make your journey smooth. The videos are helpful and easy to follow. While the jupyter notebooks are great and make it convenient for anyone to attend, i would suggest that you try and do this on your own standalone work desk as well to gain a better perspective.

This article provides a broad application of Python, finance and statistics. Actually, I'm looking for classes like these. I haven't found any yet. Atlast takes this as consolation. This was what I needed. This course cannot be designed as simply as other courses. This really needs to be done once. Thank you to both the person who devised the course and the instructor, Mr.Xuhu Wan, for their careful attention to detail in delivering the information.

It is an interesting course that will introduce you to the very basics of financial analysis. For those not familiar to Python, it is also a nice introduction to use Python and a few important libraries, such as "pandas". Note that the course does not give very detailed information about Financial Theory. I recommend this course if you want to have a quick introduction to Python analysis applied to Financial Market. It is a very enjoyable course.

A very informative course, getting more intense every week.

The professor goes through the statistics needed to understand end evaluate linear models using stock data and at the end it guides through building a daily prediction for SPY.

The only drawback are that the video might look short, but they are dense, and sometimes the professor use different names for the same concept, leaving you to connect the different names, e.g. Error ≈ Residual.

I found this course good for beginners in learning Statistics for Python programming, fairly there is a lot of information to digest. I'm content with the lessons and excercises for being very comprehensive, as well found the discuss forum helpful for sharing mistakes, thoughts and solutions.

I would reccomend this course to those who wish to understand the applications of stats in programming, or to expand their understanding of it.

Thanks!

Everything is well explained and the code is well laid out for the student. Thank you!

My encouragements to take te time to fefresh the code to go with pandas updates, as the code may be simplified. In particular:

- week 1 comprehensions aren't necessary since np.where() exists (rolling average based strategy),

- a couple back-and-forth between series and dataframes that I have avoided in my runs (mimicking dice rolls)

A short course that shows how to handle time series data, run a multiple linear regression on it, and evaluate the results. This is only an introductory course, and as such it is clear and concise and thus deserving of 5 stars. However it only touches the surface of Python, statistics or trading. As for trading - before risking Real Money - it is strongly advised to learn much more on the subject of stock markets.

It was an awesome course and learned a lot from the instructor. One thing i would suggest for those who are taking up this course is you should have a basic knowledge about stat and python libraries because course itself didn't told much about those things from scartch, overall the content and the way instructor had arranged this course is good and informative in my perspective. Thank You!!

well, I expected the course to focus more on specific forecasting algorithms. But at the same time, I realized and learned how a solid base on statistics is fundamental, mainly for interpretation. It was an interesting surprise, even if it wasn't what I expected it ended up surprising me in a positive way. I just think the last week has become very information-dense, but overall, I loved it.

Learning Python for statistics and its power through real life examples of Stock markets maintains the interest in learning uninterrupted. Thanks to Prof. Xuhu Wan for making the learning so interesting and simple- minute details of both, the Stock market and Python, I owe all my knowings of market and trends to him for simplifying the most confusing statistics in the world.

可以學到與投資、python、統計的相關知識

唯一美中不足是測驗題的超連結皆已失效,無法查看該資料後作答。

It is a nice course to learn python statistics and how to build and evaluate investment portfolio.

The only one drawback is that the link in the test problem can not work.

So student can not view the question reference and answer it.

Really hope that Coursera can fix this problem and promote the learning experience!

In overall great course! As a Data Engineer and a Economics major I thought the course would be a little bit better, but in overall it covers all the minimal aspects of econometrics and basic python manipulation. If you never used Data at some big level or econometrics this course is for you, because covers all the basic that you learn in college

It is very practical, and you can really achieve something within short time, but the pace is a bit fast, and you do have to do some additional research in order to follow up. You get insight in finance, statistics and python. But it is not a pure python course, so you would want to find something else if you want to learn particularly python.

The course is easy to understand and well designed. The most impressive part was how concisely the statistic concepts was explained. However, it may require the attendee have certain extent level of Python knowledge beofre taking this course. Otherwise, it will be little chanllenge to understand the data mungging part and replicate the same

Good course! It demonstrates how python can be applied on financial analysis. Better to have some prior knowledge on python and statistics before taking the course because this course seems to aim at showing the relationship between textbook statistics and python in financial analysis instead of teaching you basic concepts from scratch.

The course is good for those who have basic knowledge about stock market and statistics. It's very good starter and the concepts are very clearly explained. At the end one can experience the live analysis of the concepts which gives a clear direction about how to use the statistical methods for price estimation

This is a really great course if you are looking to get an overview of application of Python and statistics in the domain of finance. I would call it a beginner course but would definitely recommmend it to someone interested in finance and wants a quick survey of the basic high level view of quant finance.

very good. more description of each of the words, atleast definition would be helpful. Use a white board to draw a picture or show something relevant to the words/subject. I don't know, this correct approach or not.

I did not buy the certificate, It cost a lot $50. If it is $5. I would consider.

thank you

A complete course about Statistics and Econometrics tools for finance. I appreciated Jupiter notebook that made it very useful and full of practical applications. The level of the course is bachelor's degree. Recommended for whom who have a previous experience with statistics and wish a refresh on it.

Due to the fact that it's the first course I've completed on Coursera, I can't compare this one with any others here. But I should admit that it gained me a lot of insights on my way to study Data Science. That's how the statistics should be taught - only with the assistance of proper software.
