Greetings to all. In this class, we will learn about the model assembling and materials. The entire class is divided into three parts. The first part introduce us to the model assembling. The second part presents the model assembling procedure, and the last part highlights the core concepts of these class and the key points. First, let's discuss about what's model assembling. Model assembling is the method to handle multiple components files. It requires two functions in SketchUp, group and component. They gather and combine related entities in an individual model, which enable us to deal with group objects efficiently. For example, while modeling a building, we can create one floor all elements like beams, columns and slabs. Then we group them to produce a combined group, that contains the whole four entities. On the other hand, the components function is different from a group function. If we want to edit one component, all the components that have the same property will also be modified simultaneously, which is something that the group function won't do. We should keep in mind that model assembly is required and essential skill when modeling a complicated model, that contains lots of grubstake components. Now let's learn the model assembling procedure. If we use a building model as an example, we first create floor group or floor components. Then we create a group or component for columns. Third, we create a group or component for the walls. Then the same for the beams, stairs, ceilings, and finally, for doors and windows. Then we group them up or combine them into a single component, so that we can build another floor following the same steps. When we finish each floor, we group the whole building together, well organized model. During the next part of the video, we will watch the steps mentioned of above. We should try to keep those steps in mind. First, we create a group or component for the floor. Then we import a building plan into SketchUp through AutoCAD. The model will be based on the plan. Second, we create a group or component for the columns, the size and the position of the columns are shown in the plan. We can increase or decrease the height of the columns by using the push/pull tool in SketchUp. Third, create a group or component for walls, the size and position where the walls are shown in the plan. We can increase or decrease the height by using push and pull tools in SketchUp. Forth, create a group or component for the beams. Usually, we disable the walls layer to drop-in easily. Fifth, create a group of component for the staircases. We disable the doors and the beams and a column layer to draw the stair easily. Sixt create a group component for the ceilings. Seven, create group component for doors and windows. Next, group them and combine them into a single component then we get one floor model done. Since the efficiency of SketchUp slow down when there are too many models, it says in a single file, we could separates each floor into individual files. When we want to combine all the floor in a complete building, we use components function to assemble them. For the last part of the class, we will discuss about the key points of all what we have to learn. As we know, good management of the model layers is very important, but this will depend on the situation or model type. Also we shouldn't know how to use the information shown in the end of the info, to major groups components and layers. The assembling model position also should be noticed, for example where assembling and moving different models the coordinates are very important. The position and scale of the model is very important during modeling processes. Furthermore, we should notice the orientation of the objects. Otherwise we might get confused when we add colors on it. To sum up, model assembly is the last stage of modeling process. We should know how to use group and component well to finish the model efficiently. The group function lets group models so that we can manage to model conveniently and efficiently. The component function allow us to add all the components that have the same property by just adding one, this is over a used on identical objects such as doors and windows. Finally, while assembly models we need to make sure that we group and make component correctly. Every stairs or the modeling process shouldn't be forgotten. Also the well manage of layers is required. And we should try to pay attention to orientation of the objects. During this class we learned how to assemble different model into one. Here, we mentioned the past practice for group and component handling, those steps are very important for the well-organization of the model. Remember that having a well organized model is always good. Let's start learning for now. Goodbye.
