[MUSIC] Hello everyone, I'm Jessy Kang professor from the Department of Civil Engineering at National Taiwan University. Today I'm very pleased to announce that the CAD/BIM specialization is officially available. My research area includes Visualization. And I have been teaching Engineering Graphics in National Taiwan University for more than ten years. So I put all these efforts and knowledge together to work with a group of talented young people and finally produce these two courses. 3D CAD Fundamental and 3D CAD Application. The first course, 3D CAD Fundamental is designed for complete novices for 3D modeling. I prepared many small but thoughtful examples. You can learn many skills from practicing the examples. The second course, 3D CAD Application, is more advanced. It includes step-by-step instructions to develop a complete 5-story building model. You will learn how an engineer developed a building model in details. After two courses you will obtain all the necessary skills of 3D modeler. And you will be ready to move on to the following BIM courses. >> Hello everyone. I'm Shang-Hsien Patrick Hshieh, professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the National Taiwan University University. My assistants and I have put a lot of effort to plan and design this BIM Fundamental and BIM Application classes. In the BIM Fundamental class, you will learn the essential theoretical concepts of BIM, and the basic technical skills for creating and manipulating a BIM model. The skills include how to retrieve information from a BIM model and how to use common modeling tools. This is a very crucial part in BIM learning, because a well created BIM model is necessary for successful BIM applications. In the class, we will use Autodesk Revit as our modelling software because of its availability and popularity. In the BIM application class, you will learn how to extend the fundamental knowledge learned to popular BIM applications, including clash detection, quantity takeoff, and 4D simulation. Also, you will be asked to construct a simple BIM model in order for you to get familiar with the modeling tools and apply the model in learning BIM applications. >> Lastly, I believe that specialization courses such as these from Fundamental Theory to Detailed Projects will let everyone master this skill and more importantly apply this in the real world.
