There's a lot of excitement about Cloud technology and data science, but there are also lots of unanswered questions that you might be thinking about. For example, what is Cloud technology? What can it do for me or my organization? What does business transformation mean? Is it right for me and my team? How can I ensure I'm successful? Where do I even begin? If you're asking yourself any of these questions, you're in the right place. Hi, my name is Saman Javan, a Lead Business Curriculum Developer at Google Cloud. I've teamed up with over a dozen experts across Google Cloud to compile the fundamentals of Cloud technology, and how you can use it to make improvements and lead transformations in your industry. We've organized the course so that it starts with the basics. What is Cloud? How's it revolutionizing business and how can you be part of that journey? In module one, you'll meet Bryce Challamel, a four-time published author and our Lead subject matter expert who'll help answer these questions. The second module explores the broader business and cultural challenges that you'll inevitably face on this Cloud adoption journey. Specifically, I'll explain that by using the right mindset and business practices, you can organically promote an innovation culture. I'll draw from Google successes over the years along with industry examples that you can start applying today. In the third module, you'll meet Anna Baird, the Global Lead for Business and Services Training at Google Cloud. She'll connect the dots by explaining how you can craft an ambitious business challenge to guide your Cloud adoption journey, and to help you unlock the value of your data. With all of the talk about data, you will have lots of questions about privacy and security. So in the fourth module, you'll meet James Snow, Lead Security and Compliance Specialist. He'll explain the differences between privacy, security, reliability, and compliance, why they're so important for success in the Cloud era and how a security strategy is key to your journey to the Cloud. In the fifth module, with your business challenges determined, Evan Jones, a Data and Machine Learning Trainer at Google Cloud, will explain the steps to build a custom business case to share it with your IT teams or technical partners. I'll be back at the end to share valuable resources beyond this course to support your skilled improvement and transformation projects. Remember, we will test your knowledge throughout the course with reflection questions and graded assessments. You'll need to pass the assessments to receive credit for the course. You can apply your learning to your own environment and use cases through the Student Workbook. By the end, we hope you'll have the fundamentals you need to put together a briefing document to share with your extended teams. Let's jump in.
