Hello Mathieu. Hello Lise. Hello everyone, I'm Lise and I'm the course director for the Master's in sustainable development
at HEC. You know me, Mathieu, from Ticket for change, and I'm delighted to be with you again. We're going to introduce Chapter 6: gaining impact, how to choose the right tools for implementing your project. We are at the very heart of the action phase of the process. This chapter is key to getting your project off on the right track. At this stage, you have set out an idea, you are tackling a social or environmental issue that particularly motivates you. You have set out your mission and are building your economic model. In this chapter, you will find out about tools that are key to your approach as an entrepreneur. Becoming an entrepreneur of change means not only dreaming, but also turning your ideas into concrete actions. To do so, you need to understand the steps and practical tools needed to create, construct and launch your project. The aim of this chapter is to describe to you the first tools needed to launch your project. It does not intend to be exhaustive, and so you should feel free to refer to the documents suggested in the chapter resources to delve into these subjects in more detail. This chapter is organised into 3 main parts: the first, structure and governance, will enable you to start asking the right questions when choosing the legal structure for your project and its mode of governance. The second, funding strategy, will introduce the different means of financing your project, focussing on specific models of funding for entrepreneurs of change. Finally, in the third part, we will look at the issue of measuring social impact, key for steering your activities in the right direction
and persuading your partners. Each of these parts will be illustrated with testimonials from experts or pioneers who took part in the Ticket for Change tour. On each subject, we intend to help you ask the right questions in order to make the right choices, while not forgetting that you will need to continually adapt your decisions as your organisation evolves. Let us get started right away with the first part: choosing the structure and governance for your project.
