My name is Sarah Hill and I'm the ICT coordinator for Bertram Primary School. We've recently implemented iPads into different aspects of our school. I started my iPad journey at the beginning of this year when I was using my own iPad in class to help show things on our smartboards. Since then I've also started to implement them into Kindergarten and smaller intervention groups. The first thing I did when we got the iPads was to set them up in Kindergarten and work with the teachers for three weeks to ensure that they were confident with using them. Once I knew that was successful, I then implemented Intervention programs for literacy and numeracy, where our specialist teachers could use the iPads to increase the skills of our students. I've also developed individual programs for our students with autism, so that they have an iPad that caters to their specialist needs to help them fit in within the classroom. This has insured that our students are getting the most out of their day everyday and has also made life easier for them, as they can achieve the same things as their peers. >> Sarah has helped us to implement the iPad's into our Kindergarten classes. And we use them on a daily basis, and we use them. In our rotation activities. The kids are really engaged when they're using them, and focused on the activity. And they love using them, because they're really hands on. In the past, I've had really little experience with Apple technology. But I feel with Sarah's support, that I can confidently implement them into my classroom using the iPads. >> Since we've introduced the iPads, the students are more eager to come with us to start with, 'because they're going to have fun. >> It builds their confidence. >> The iPads offer a different learning style for our students. [MUSIC] They cater to their diversity more. And are more engaging for them, as the students can learn at their own pace, and get instant reward. The iPad program at Birchwood's been a fantastic success. All of our students are engaged and eager to learn. And ready to do anything and any challenge that we place before them, using the iPads. [MUSIC] I'm looking forward to our next stage, which is implementing more iPads in the classroom next year, so that our students can get the best out of every day. [BLANK_AUDIO]
