[MUSIC] Welcome to the final course of our VR specialization. In this course you will develop your own first full VR project. A game is a great place to start making for your first VR project, and we will talk you through the process of designing and developing a game. >> Games can be a lot of fun, and most games are for entertainment, but games are made and used a lot outside of the entertainment industry. VR games are used by surgeons and fighter pilots to practice their work. They're used in schools to teach children, and by aid agencies to raise awareness. Games can be art and games can be journalism. So whatever your interest or passion, you can create a VR game for it. >> If you haven't Specialization you will have already learned about the concept of virtual reality and the psychology behind it. You will have had some hands on experience in creating 3D environments, and designing 3D interactions in VR. You might have also learned about virtual characters and how they are used in a variety of VR applications. >> But if you haven't done any of the rest of the course, and you just want to go through the experience of developing a VR game, don't worry. We'll provide enough material to guide you through the experience. We will refer back to some of the videos in the previous courses you might want to check out. However, as the majority of learners for this course have been through the specialization, we won't explain all of the specific technical details in this course. So we'll assume that you have some basic skills in Unity and some experience in creating 3D environments and interaction. >> Working on a VR project can be a lot of work, and it's really important that you know where to start, how to proceed, and how to manage your time. We'll guide you through the whole process doing one stage each week. We'll encourage you to keep a to do list of tasks. We'll give you reflective quizzes, where we will ask you questions to help you think about your projects. And you'll do several peer reviews to get feedback about your project from other learners. >> Different from previous courses, rather than having lectures from Michael and I, we'll have mostly a lot of interviews and case studies. The first half of this course is about coming up with your own idea and a design for a VR application. So we interviewed many VR developers and what types of applications they have been using VR for. We hope that their examples will be your source of inspiration. >> The second half of this course is really about giving you some time to work on your own VR application. So there'll be fewer lectures. We'll focus on the things that are relevant to you for the future, including how to promote your VR game. >> We also reserved part of the interviews we recorded for the second half, where we asked those VR experts their advice for someone new in VR, and what they think the future of VR will be.
