[MUSIC] What makes life worth living? What does it mean to live a good life? How can we become more resilient? And how can we ease or even prevent the suffering caused by depression and trauma? I've dedicated my life to answering these questions and to increasing well being around the world. Along the way, I've worked with extraordinary world leaders and brilliant colleagues. I've learned the most from tens of thousands of teachers, parents, students, and people just like you, who have embraced the rigorous science of positive psychology and have applied it in their own lives with their families and in their communities. These real world results have taught me what human flourishing really is, and how each of us can create thriving families and flourishing communities. In this course, I look forward to sharing some of my own life story with you, along with this groundbreaking research. You'll see this course is designed in four modules that you can complete at your own pace. Each module includes video lectures, reading, quizes and opportunities to share your thoughts and course work with fellow participants on the course. There are also practical activities and reflection questions throughout the course. They're optional, however, I strongly recommend that you do them as you go along.
