[MUSIC] Greetings our dear listeners of psychodiagnostics and psychological assessment online course. We begin to consider different approaches. To the psychodiagnostics of personality. In total, I would like to identify four main approach in the classical psychodiagnostic of personality. They are dimensional, typological, psychodynamic, and block-structured approach. And today I am going to talk about paramount classical approach in psychodiagnostic personality. It is dimensional approach. A dimension refers to a continuum on which an individual can have various levels of a characteristic. According to dimensional models, disorders are classified according to which characteristics are expressed at which levels. These things is a contrast to the traditional categorical models of classification, which are base on the build-in presence of absence of same terms. And do not take into account levels of expression of a characteristic or the presence of any underlying dimension. Dimensional classification techniques show multi dimensional profiles. And therefore, they can show information about a personality continuum, from normal to atypical. According to our this task, we will talk about dimensional representation based on the traits from normal personality research. Clinical aspects of psychodiagnostics are beyond the scope of our course. The development affect the analysis as a popular statistical technique in differential psychology and psychodiagnostic has led to an increase in attempts at finding underlying traits. British and American psychologist Raymond Cattell found that variations in human personality could be best explained by a model that has 16 variables. Personality traits using a statistical procedure known as vector analysis. Cattell's 16 personality factors test is a self report personality test developed over several decades of empirical research. The 16PF provides a measure of normal personality. And can also be used by psychologists and other mental health professionals as a clinical instrument to help diagnose psychiatric disorders as well as help with prognosis and therapy plan. The 16PF instrument provides clinicians with a normal-range measurement of anxiety, adjustment, emotional stability and behavioral problems. It can also be used within other areas of psychology such as career and occupational selection. It is a classic behavioral questionnaire, that's why in fact it's fine. In my practice there is a very interesting experience of comparative research. The behavioral characteristics of the patients who have a stroke and the patients who underwent heart attack were compared. People who underwent brain hemorrhage or a stroke is characterized by extensive force of super ego. Which is manifested in a large number of so-called ordinances. Duties, that people ascribe to themselves and place into their brain. People who have suffered a hemorrhage in the heart or heart attack are in fume ego. One might say the lay of self love, and straight away. So, it's about as a directs and Budhism and green hot come into mind. I want to interest in several questioner. I would like to classify the most widely used test as the same variety of questionnaires. I mean MMPI, Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory. It is copyrighted by the University of Minnesota. The MMPI was designed as an adult measure of psychopathology and personality structure in 1939. Last version of this test was published in 2008. The MMPI-2-RF restructured form was published to psychometrically and theoretically fine tune the measure. The MMPI-2-RFcontains 338 items, contains eight validity and 42 homogeneous substansive scales. And allows for a straightforward interpretation strategy. The five factor model of personality is the most dominant dimensional model in contemporary psychodiagnostics. It was first extended by Thomas Widiger in the early 1990s. And your homework, you will try to do MMPI test. I think it is a very rewarding experience. If you are going to give this technique to your clients, you should be aware of the emotional and mental stress associated with the implementation of this very big test. Best regards. [MUSIC]
