[MUSIC] Hi, welcome back to our special edition on Coursera on how to start a business. We've thoroughly explored what it takes to develop an entrepreneurial mindset in our previous lessons, but now we're going to dive into the process of ideation. Where do great ideas come from? This seems to be a mystery surrounding entrepreneurship. After years of working with aspiring entrepreneurs of all ages, I find that most people fall into two categories. The first group seems to be dealing with an endless stream of business concepts that are constantly bombarding them to the point where decision making is nearly impossible. Every amazing idea is quickly replaced the next day with another, and another, and another. And the pattern repeats themselves. I'm sure we all know someone who is in this same situation, where businesses seem to just flow to them. The other group is the aspiring entrepreneur who knows there is a higher calling for their skill set. They can't quite ever generate that special, original idea that sticks and propels them into action. The goal of this course is to provide you with some of the tools to generate ideas that stick. This course will consist of three modules which are ordered to move you incrementally forward in your ideation processes. In Module 1, we'll cover the tools that can be extremely helpful in putting you in a mindset and position for maximum idea generation potential. In Module 2, we'll introduce you to a process in design thinking methodology. Which was developed by world-renowned creative design firm IDEO. This lesson will be an overview on their processes and will arm you with a step by step guide for idea discovery that pushes you to your creative limits. In Module 3, we'll further explore the topics of customer discovery and how it can lead to great idea generating potential. So let's get to work and jump into Module 1, Tools for Ideation. [MUSIC]
